Rupachandra, learned senior counsel along with Mr. W. Ashokkumar, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. H. Samarjit, learned PP assisted by Mrs. RK. Emily, learned Dy. G.A. for the State respondent. [2] By the present application, the petitioner prays for extending the interim bail granted vide order dated 12.05.2025 in Bail Appln. No. 38 of 2024 by another two months. [3] It is submitted that vide order dated 12.05.2025 passed in Bail Appln. No. 38 of 2024 and MC(Bail Appln.) No. 10 of 2024, this Court granted interim bail for two months for treatment. The relevant portion is reproduced as: “[8] In the circumstances, the petitioner is directed to be released on interim bail for two months to the satisfaction of the Ld. Spl. Judge (ND & PS), Manipur on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 50,000/- with a surety (Govt. Employee) each of like amount subject to the conditions: (a) The petitioner shall furnish personal bond of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) with one surety (Govt. Employee) of the like amount. (b) The petitioner shall co-operate with the investigation. (c) The petitioner shall not tamper with the evidence or influence witnesses. (d) The petitioner shall not leave Manipur without permission of this Court. (e) On breach of any of the aforesaid conditions, the respondent is entitled to take appropriate action against the petitioner in accordance with law. [9] The petitioner shall surrender before the Superintendent, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa on expiry of two months from the date of release. A copy of proof of surrender shall be forwarded to this Court and learned Special Judge (NDPS), Manipur.” [4] Mr. S. Rupachandra, learned senior counsel for the petitioner, draws the attention of this Court to the medical report stating that the petitioner requires surgery as and when his HTN, UTI and other problems are under control. In the circumstances, it is prayed that the interim bail granted vide order dated 12.05.2025 be extended for another period of two months. [5] Mr. H. Samarjit, learned PP, submits that this Court may pass appropriate order, in the circumstances, directed in the application. [6] This Court has considered the application. Since the doctor advised surgery, interim bail granted on 12.05.2025 is extended on the same ground on expiry of two months period, i.e. the petitioner is directed to surrender before the Superintendent, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa on 15.09.2025. The Superintendent, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa is directed to forward a copy of the proof of surrender to this Court and also to the Court of Special Judge, Imphal East, Manipur for information.
