Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite parties. 2. Petition has been filed seeking following prayers:- "(i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the opposite parties to grant promotion to the petitioner as Senior Medical Officer, Level II w.e.f. 27.9.2018 the date on which the petitioner has become eligible for promotion to post of Senior Medical Officer Level-II, within a period to be specified by this Hon'ble court. (ii) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the opposite parties specifically the Opposite Party No.1, to consider the case of petitioner for promotion to the post of Senior Medical Officer Level-II by deciding the representation dated 23.7.2025 made by petitioner within stipulated time as this Hon'ble Court may deemed fit." 3. For the aforesaid grievance, petitioner has already submitted a representation to the concerned authority. 4. At present learned counsel for petitioner restricts his prayer for a final decision with regard to same. 5. Considering innocuous prayer being made by learned counsel for petitioner and without entering into the merits of the case, opposite party No.1 i.e. Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of U.P. Lucknow is directed to consider and decide the same within a period of eight weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before said authority. 6.
