Mr. Pankaj Tangwan, Advocate for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Narayan Dutt, Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand / respondent nos. 1 to 3. 3. Petitioner’s father was serving as Peon in Regulated Area (now Development Authority) at Kedarnath in District Rudraprayag, who died while in service on 31.1.2025. Petitioner applied for compassionate appointment. Since, her application has not been considered so far, therefore, petitioner has approached this Court, seeking the following relief: - “I. Issue a writ of mandamus, commanding and directing the respondents to given appointment to the petitioner, which is suitable to the petitioner as per her educational qualification.” 4. The application made by the petitioner is on record as Annexure-8 to the writ petition. It was submitted to the District Magistrate, Rudraprayag. 5. Learned State Counsel submits that since petitioner has claimed appointment only as Group-C employee and she has expressed her reluctance to join duties as Group-D employee, therefore, the matter was to be referred to the Secretary of the concerned department by the District Magistrate. He submits that instructions from the Secretary are still awaited. 6. Since the matter is reportedly pending before the concerned Secretary, therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned Secretary to issue necessary instructions/ guidelines to the District Magistrate, Rudraprayag in response to District Magistrate’s letter dated 11.8.2025 (Annexure-9 to the writ petition), as per law, within six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
