GP FOR HOME The Court made the following Order: Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, for the respondents. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been arrayed as accused No.4 in C.C.No.31 of 2023, and was facing trial in the said case. It is submitted that the petitioner was acquitted in C.C.No.31 of 2023 by judgment dated 28.02.2025, passed by the Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Pulivendula. It is submitted that though the petitioner was acquitted in the criminal case, an application filed by the petitioner for 2 reissuance of her passport was not considered, on the ground that the police authorities have not issued a Police Clearance Certificate. It is submitted that the Police Clearance Certificate is being denied on the ground that the petitioner was involved in a criminal case. 3. Considering the submission that the petitioner was acquitted in the criminal case vide judgment dated 28.02.2025, nothing should forbid the police or concerned authority from issuing a Police Clearance Certificate for reissuance/renewal of the passport. Accordingly, the respondents 2 to 5 are directed to issue necessary Police Clearance Certificate to the 6th respondent within a period of one (01) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such receipt of Police Clearance Certificate, the 6th respondent shall reissue the passport of the petitioner, if the application of the petitioner is otherwise in order. 4. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 5.
