In these Public Interest Litigations, certain instances of killings of persons branded as witches and rehabilitation of certain victims is raised. There was also a prayer to provide a helpline for receiving complaints of this nature, In response of which, the State has created a dedicated helpline no. 181.

We do not see any further reason to keep these P.I.Ls alive, since the State has indicated the steps being taken to deal with the instances of this nature as and when they are brought to the notice of the State Authorities. It is open to any person to initiate a fresh P.I.L in case there is a necessity to do so in future.

With these observations, these three W.P(PIL) are closed.
