Ms. Shruti Joshi, learned counsel for the applicants. 2. Mr. Prem Kaushal and Mr. Mohd. Matloob, learned counsel/Mediator. 3. Mr. Digvijay Singh Bisht, learned counsel for the respondent no.2. 4. This matter is taken up in the National Lok Adalat held on 13.09.2025. 5. Both the parties appeared before the National Lok Adalat through Video Conferencing identified by their respective counsel. 6. The instant C-482 Petition has been filed by the applicants seeking quashing of the FIR No. 0192 of 2021, dated 27.08.2021 as well as the cognizance order dated 17.01.2023, against the applicant nos. 1 & 2, under Sections 323, 504, 506, 354, 498-A IPC and Sections ¾ of the Dowry Prohibition Act and against the applicant nos. 3 & 4, under Sections 323, 354, 504, 506, 498-A of IPC and Section ¾ of the Dowry Prohibition Act, State vs. Mohd. Irfan and others. 7. Learned counsel for the parties submits that the parties have entered into a compromise on the following terms and conditions: “(i) Applicant no. 1 has paid Rs. 2 lakhs to the respondent no.2 as a mehar and permanent alimony, which has been 2025:UHC:9496 accepted by respondent no.2. (ii) Applicant no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have taken divorce from each other. (iii) Respondent no.2 is now married to some other person and, therefore, is not interested to prosecute the applicants any further.” 8. In view of the above, the compounding application is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No. 0192 of 2021, dated 27.08.2021 as well as the cognizance order dated 17.01.2023, against the applicant no. 1 & 2, under Sections 323, 504, 506, 354, 498- A IPC and Sections ¾ of the Dowry Prohibition Act and against the applicant nos.3 & 4, under Sections 323, 354, 504, 506, 498-A of IPC and Section ¾ of the Dowry Prohibition Act, State vs. Mohd. Irfan and others, are quashed in terms of the compromise arrived at between the parties. 9. Compromise / Settlement dated 13.09.2025 shall form part of this order.
