By means of instant writ petition, the petitioner seeks the following reliefs:- ‘Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding/directing the respondents giving the promotion from Associate Professor (Direct Selection/Recruitment) pay band 37400- 67000 with AGP of Rs. 9000/- to Professor from 01.01.2008 in the light of HRD Notification, UGC Guidelines and Government Order and also fix the pay band 37400-67000 with AGP of Rs. 10000/- as provided to other Professors in the University and call the record. ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding/directing the respondents to decide the application/representations of the petitioner 08.06.2016, 20.12.2016, 16.02.2018, 23.03.2021 and 27.08.2022 and petition dated 13.03.2024 (Annexure No. 27 to this writ petition.) which is still pending before the authority. iii) Issue any other writ, order or direction, which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case. iv) Award the cost of the petition to the petitioner.” 6. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner does not want to press prayer no.(i) at this stage. 2025:UHC:10865-DB 7. The writ petition is dismissed for prayer no. (i) as not pressed. 8. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has already made a representation to the respondent/University, but no decision has been taken on it, even after lapse of a long period. 9. Learned counsel for respondent nos.3 and 4 submits that the representation is pending before respondent no.2- the Hon’ble Chancellor, Uttarakhand. 10. Learned counsel for respondent no.2 submits that the representation that has been given by the petitioner shall be decided within a period of two months from today. 11.
