Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of the opposite parties. 2. Present petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India has been filed seeking direction to authority concerned for consideration of petitioner for promotion from the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police to the post of Additional Superintendent of Police by holding departmental promotion committee within a specified time-frame. 3. Learned State Counsel has been provided written instructions dated 22.07.2025, which is taken on record and as per which recommendation for holding departmental promotion committee is under consideration by the State Government and a decision shall be taken shortly. 4. In view of aforesaid, opposite party no.1 i.e. Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary, Home U.P., Civil Secretariat, Lucknow is directed to take a decision with regard to holding departmental promotion committee expeditiously and in case any such departmental promotion committee is held with regard to said post, petitioner's case shall be considered in accordance with law. 5.
