Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel. 2. The present petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging an order dated 09.10.2024, whereby the stamp duty was assessed against the petitioner. 3. Learned Standing Counsel states that an appeal is prescribed under Section 56(1-A) of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 against the impugned order. 4. In view thereof, the present petition is disposed of permitting the petitioner to prefer an appeal against the impugned order. In case, such an appeal is filed within a period of two weeks from today, the same shall be entertained on merits and shall not be dismissed on the ground of limitation. 5. It is also provided that for a period of two weeks, the recovery shall not be executed against the petitioner.
