Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of the opposite parties. 2. Present petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India has been filed for following reliefs:- "(i) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of to mandamus commanding the State Government consider Petitioner's claim for promotion from the date his junior (i.e. from 14-05-2024) namely, Sri Manish Verma (Seniority Serial No. 2245) has been given promotion; (ii) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents to ensure that Petitioner is extended all the benefits available to him from 14-05-2024 within the time to be specified by the Hon'ble Court. (iii) to to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents especially the Principal Secretary pass final order on the recommendation of the Engineer-in-Chief/Head of Department (copy of recommendation letter dated 04-01-2025 of the Head of Department is enclosed as Annexure No. 9 to this petition) within the shortest possible time as specified by the Hon'ble Court;" 3. It is submitted that petitioner's grievance was raised before the concerned authority and the Chief Engineer vide letter dated 04.01.2025 has submitted the aforesaid aspect -for consideration before the State Government where it is still pending. 4. In view of aforesaid facts and circumstances, opposite party no.1-State of U.P. through its Principal Secretary, Public Works Department, U.P. Government, Lucknow is directed to take a decision on the letter dated 04.01.2025 sent by the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department with regard to petitioner's grievance, within a period of six weeks from the date certified copy of the order is served upon it. 5.
