It is the case of the petitioner that the father- in-law of the petitioner was working as a Paryavaran Mitra in Nagar Palika on a daily-wage basis in the year 2012. He died in harness on 28.08.2005. The petitioner has submitted that he is a dependent of his deceased father-in-law and has, therefore, applied for compassionate appointment. It is further submitted that he is the sole breadwinner of his family, and his application for compassionate appointment is still pending consideration before respondent no.2. Accordingly, he prays that respondent no.2/competent authority be directed to consider and decide his pending application for compassionate appointment at the earliest. 5. Per contra, learned counsel for respondent no.2 submits that although the petitioner has filed an application for compassionate appointment, the said application was submitted through the Union. It is contended that if the petitioner submits a fresh application directly before the competent authority, containing all requisite details, respondent no.2 shall consider and decide the same strictly in accordance with law. 6. In view of the aforesaid, the writ petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh application before respondent no.2/competent authority within one week from the date of production of a certified copy of this order. In the event such an application is submitted within the stipulated period, respondent no.2/competent authority shall consider and decide the same, in accordance with law, within six weeks thereafter.
