The present petition has been filed with the following prayers: "(i) issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the opposite party No.2 to grant the arms license in respect of Handgun Revolver/Pistol in the name of the petitioner forthwith for safety and security of his person and property. (ii) issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the opposite party No.2 to dispose of the representation of petitioner and consider for grant of Licence of Handgun Revolver/Pistol in his favour keeping in view of the report being submitted by the authorities concerned." 3. Considering the submission of the Counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has applied for arms license, the present petition is disposed off directing the District Magistrate Bahraich to consider and decide the application for arms license of the petitioner, if already submitted, in accordance with law with all expedition preferably within a period of four months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
