The petitioners' claim acquisition of their land bearing Gata No's. 42, 43 & 35 which had come down to them from their ancestors. However, in the award which was rendered on 25.05.1982, though, the aforesaid Gatas' are mentioned but there names are not mentioned, consequently, they have not been paid compensation. Possession was taken sometime in 1991, as informed by the petitioners' Counsel, hence this petition in July, 2025, that too, without challenging the award or seeking any other remedy in the interregnum. We asked learned Counsel for the petitioners to show relevant 'khatauni' wherein the petitioners may be recorded in respect of the land in question to which the petitioners' Counsel submitted that the 'khataunis' are in Urdu. When we peruse the record, we find that the 'khataunis', if any, are of the year 1925. Shri Ratnesh Chandra, learned Counsel for the Lucknow Development Authority and Avas Vikas Parishad informs that the notification for acquisition were issued sometime in 1973 and 1980. This is hardly a matter for interference in July, 2025. The petitioner may avail other remedies, as may be prescribed in law. In view of the aforesaid, the writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
