The petitioners were offered an estimate of the expenses to be incurred for providing an electricity connection for a heavy industry. The petitioners' counsel says that orally the petitioners were informed that even if the money is deposited, the connection would not be given, therefore, they did not deposit the money. It is hardly an explanation to be accepted at this stage. If it was so, the petitioners would have come to the Court just as they have come now. Counsel for the Electricity Corporation says that now the petitioners have to apply afresh because the earlier estimate was given on 01.03.2024 and the file has been closed on account of non payment. Let the petitioners apply afresh for electricity connection and if any such application is filed, the same shall be processed and whatever is required to be done in pursuance thereof as per rules, shall be done within three months unless there is any legal impediment.
