This application has been filed under Chapter VIII-P of the Tripura High Court Rules, 2023 for extension of time in the connected Contempt Petition. [3]
When the case is called, Mr. M. Debbarma, learned Addl. GA appearing for the applicants (respondent-contemnors) submits before this Court that by virtue of IA 1 of 2025, they are seeking further 8 weeks time for complying with the order dated 05.08.2024 passed in Writ Petition No. 616 of 2023. [4]
On the other hand, Ms. S. Debbarman, learned counsel appearing for the respondent (petitioner in the contempt petition) submits before this Court that the order passed by this Court in Writ Petition No. 616 of 2023 dated 05.08.2024 was challenged by way of Writ Appeal and the
same stood dismissed by order dated 29.04.2024 in WA 61 of 2023 in similarly situated matter. [5]
In view of the same, this interlocutory application is ordered granting 8 weeks time as prayed for i.e. the order to be complied with on or before 10th April, 2025. However, it is made clear that no further extension of time shall be granted in this regard. Accordingly, the application for extension of time is closed. Subsequently, the contempt petition is also closed.
