The case of the petitioner is that he was engaged as a Watch and Ward employee by the respondent department during the construction of the Veterinary Polyclinic at Verinag. He rendered uninterrupted service from April 1, 2010, to April 5, 2021, but has not received his legitimate wages, which amount to ₹6,05,183/-. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite multiple representations and a legal notice, the respondent department has failed to release the petitioner’s dues. 3. After arguing for some time, the learned counsel submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent department to release the wages for the period he worked. 4. In view of the above context, it would be futile to keep this petition pending. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and decide the representation (already made or to be made) regarding the release of wages, strictly in accordance with the applicable rules. 5. The respondents shall complete this exercise within two months from the date a certified copy of this order is served upon them. 6. Disposed of accordingly.
