The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner 2. has filed Crl.M.P.No.161 of 2025 in C.C.No.143 of 2024 seeking a direction nd from the Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Vayalpad, for a direction to the 2 respondent therein to renew the passport of the petitioner. The learned Magistrate has dismissed the petition vide order dated 04.04.2025. f 2 % The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the passport of 3. the petitioner will expire on 10.06,2025 and that he is required to travel abroad on job. On account of pendency of the case, the learned Magistrate has denied renewal of his passport. The Hon’ble Supreme Court in the matter on Vangala Kasturi Rangacharyulu vs. CBl\ directed the passport authority to renew the 4. passport and also held that passport authority cannot refuse renewal of passport on ground of the pendency of criminal case. The Hon’ble High Court for the State of Telangana in the matter of Venkata Siva Kumar Yadhanapudi vs. The Union of India and another^, 5. considered the similar issue and referred to various judgments passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, directed the passport authority to renew the passport of the petitioner. The Hon’ble High Court for the State of Telangana in the matter of Arihant Prakash Katariya vs. The State of Telangana and others^, also dealt with similar issue and directed the passport authority to renew the 6. passport of the petitioner. Considering the same, the concerned passport authority is 7. directed to renew the passport of the petitioner for the period of ten (10) years as done in all the cases, subject to the application of the petitioner being in order.
