In this petition, the petitioners approached this Court in the year 2023 seeking a direction to respondents 2 to 3 to ensure that they are not harassed by the private respondents and their relatives. 2. It was submitted that the petitioners, being major, had contracted marriage out of their free will and volition and, therefore, were entitled to live as husband and wife without any interference from any person, including the private respondents. 3. This petition came up for consideration on 22nd December, 2023, when this Court while issuing notice to the other side directed the official respondents to provide adequate protection to the petitioners and ensure that nobody interferes in their married life. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would fairly submit that since 22nd December, 2023, nobody has interfered in their life and they are peacefully living as husband and wife. 5. In that view of the matter and in view of the interim directions passed by this Court and protection given to the petitioners, this petition has outlived its utility and is therefore rendered infructuous. 6. This petition is accordingly dismissed as having been rendered infructuous. 7. It shall, however, remain open to the petitioners to approach the respondent (Police) in case any attempt to interfere with their life and liberty is made by the private respondents.
