The report dated 13.10.2025, particularly, para 4 reads as under: “4. The following qualifications prescribed for the District Tourism Development Officer (Annexure-4), point number-4 of Part 1 General of Directorate of Higher Education, Uttarakhand Government and Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Gazette number 1923/vi/2013-01 (08)/2012 Dehradun June 19, 2023 were also considered by the Committee- “Have a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism/Hotel Management/Mass Communication from a recognized University established by law in India or a qualification recognized thereto.” Committee’s recommendation- The following facts mentioned above- 1. MOU between NCHM & CT and IGNOU (available on NCHM & CT website). 2. 3 year B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration Curriculum jointly offered by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Noida (NCHM & CT) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Syllabus for 1st Semester Circulated 25 June 2010 Syllabus applicable in the year 2012 for jointly conducted B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. 3. Provisions for equivalence of degrees as mentioned on IGNOU website. 4. After thorough study and detailed deliberations, of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Gazette No. 1923/vi/2013-01 (08)/2012 Dehradun June 19, 2023, Part -1 General, point number-4, qualification prescribed for District Tourism Development Office, the Committee unanimously finds it appropriate to consider the 3 year B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration degree obtained by Shri Shanu Prakash in the year 2012 as equivalent /equivalent to the qualification prescribed for district Tourism Development Officer in point no. 4 of Part-1 General of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Gazette No. 1923/vi/2013-01 (08)/2012 Dehradun June 19, 2023 “Graduate degree in Tourism /Hotel Management /Mass Communication or any qualification recognized as equivalent thereto”.
