The petitioners are aggrieved by the non-disbursement of their legitimate wages. It is averred in the petition that the petitioners were duly engaged as Guest Faculty for the academic sessions 2024-25,26 and have been discharging their duties continuously. Despite the subsistence of their engagement and performance of duties, the respondents have failed to release their accrued wages to date. Consequently, the petitioners and their dependents are being subjected to extreme financial hardship and are on the verge of starvation. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners, after making preliminary submissions, limited the prayer to a direction for the release of the withheld wages. It is submitted that the petitioners would be satisfied if the present petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to settle the outstanding dues within a stipulated timeframe. 3. Mr. Jahingeer Ahmad Dar, GA, aappearing for the respondents, submits that the claim of the petitioners for the release of wages will be verified against official records. He further assures that, subject to verification of the petitioners' performance of duties and the genuineness of their claim, the respondents will consider and process the release of the unpaid wages in accordance with the law. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties, this petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners for the release of unpaid wages. The disbursement shall be subject to verification of the duties performed and shall be executed strictly in accordance with the law and the applicable rules/regulations governing the field. 5. A decision regarding the same shall be taken expeditiously, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
