Borthakur, learned Standing Counsel for the Finance Department and Mr. P. Nayak, learned Additional Advocate General for the opposite party no. 6. The Interlocutory Application (I.A.) has been filed seeking impleadment of the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs. The petitioner has prayed for regularization of his service in the accompanying writ petition. It is the claim of the petitioner that the Department of Urban Development, Government of
Page No.# 3/3 Assam had regularized the service of the writ petitioner. Subsequently, the Department of Urban Development was renomenclatured as the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs. Since the petitioner sought a direction for appointing a competent authority in the Department, and in view of the claim made by the petitioner for his regularization, which was granted by the Department of Urban Development, Government of Assam, the said Department is required to be arrayed as a party. The Department has now been renamed as the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Therefore, the present Interlocutory Application (I.A.) has been filed seeking to implead the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs as respondent no. 6 in the accompanying writ petition. No objection is raised by the respondents in the writ petition who are also opposite parties in the I.A. Accordingly, without issuing notice at this stage, the I.A. stands allowed. The Department of Housing and Urban Affairs is arrayed as a party respondent No. 6 in the accompanying writ petition being WP(C)/3157/2022. The petitioner will file the amended cause title within two (2) weeks from today. I.A. accordingly stands allowed and disposed of. JUDGE
