Narendar C.J.) Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Deputy Advocate General for the State. Parties are present. 2. Learned brother Justice Ashish Naithani has interacted with the parties. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that petitioners strongly perceive a threat to their life and limb from the respondent nos. 3 to 7 and in that view they have approached this Court and pray for the relief of a direction to the concerned SHO to grant protection. 1 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the parties were earlier residing in Rudrapur, District Udham Singh Nagar within the jurisdiction of Rudrapur Police Station; that on account of threat perception to their life and limb, they have presently shifted their residence to Kiccha, District Udham Singh. 4. In that view, the learned Deputy Advocate General for the State would submit that a direction be issued to the SHO, Kicchha police station, District Udham Singh Nagar. 5. The aforesaid submission is placed on record. 6. The Criminal Writ Petition is disposed off. The SHO, Police Station Kicchha, District Udham Singh Nagar is directed to assess the threat, if any, to the life and limb of the petitioners and provide such protection if there is a reasonable apprehension that there is a threat to the life and limb of the petitioners. The SHO shall summon the respondent nos. 3 to 7 and counsel them not to take law in their hands or attempt to harm the petitioners, and warn the respondents that strict action will be taken against them if they transgress the law. 7. The Writ Petition stands ordered in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs. 2 8.
