Conferring work charge status upon the petitioner on completion of 08 years of continuous service. (ii). His continuation in service till the age of 60 years in light of the decision rendered in Satya Devi Versus State of H.P. and others2. 1Whether reporters of print and electronic media may be allowed to see the order? Yes. 2 CWP No.2274 of 2021, decided alongwith connected matters on 28.05.2024 2 2. Heard learned counsel for the parties on the aforesaid issues. 2(i). Insofar as conferment of work charge status upon the petitioner on completion of 08 years of continuous service is concerned, the matter is no more res-integra and is covered by the decision rendered by the Hon’ble Apex Court in State of Himachal Pradesh and Ors. Vs. Surajmani & Anr.3. The respondents are directed to examine this prayer of the petitioner and redress his grievance within two weeks in light of the law laid down in Surajmani3. All consequences shall follow. 2(ii). About the next prayer of the petitioner of his continuation in service till the age of 60 years, the same is covered by the decision rendered in Satya Devi2, which presently has been stayed by the Hon’ble Apex Court in State of Himachal Pradesh & Ors. Vs. Inder Pal4 vide order dated 24.03.2025. This grievance of the petitioner and redressal thereof will abide by the outcome of Inder Pal4, presently pending before the Hon’ble Apex Court.
