…Appellant/Petitioner(s) Through: NONE Vs.
UNION TERRITORY OF J AND K AND ORS
…Respondent (s) Through: Mr. Mohsin Qadri, Sr. AAG with Ms. Maha Majeed, Assisting Counsel
CORAM:
HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJEEV KUMAR, JUDGE
ORDER 19.12.2025
1. On the last three consecutive dates of hearing, there has been no representation on behalf of the petitioners. Today also when the case was called out, nobody turned up to appear for the petitioners.
2. In this petition, the petitioners, who claim to have contracted marriage out of their free will and volition, have approached this Court seeking protection to their life and liberty, being threatened by respondents 7 to 10.
3. This petition came up for consideration on 3rd December, 2024 when this Court, while issuing notice to the respondents for filing reply, called upon the counsel for the petitioners to justify the maintainability of the petition having regard to the non-marriageable age of the petitioner No. 1.
4. This direction has not been complied with. As a matter of fact, learned counsel has stopped appearing in the matter. It is thus evident that the petitioners are no more interested to pursue this petition. The purpose for which the petition was filed seems to have been achieved.
5. This petition is accordingly dismissed for non-prosecution.
