Roy Barman, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Mr. D. Paul, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. SM Chakraborty, learned Advocate General along with Mr. Kohinoor N. Bhattacharya, learned G.A appearing for the respondents-State. [2] This present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following reliefs:- “i) Issue rule upon the respondents to show cause as to why a writ in the nature of Mandamus and/or order/orders and/or direction/directions of like nature shall not be issued whereby directing the respondents to take necessary steps to ensure transmission of the programmes of Channel Din Raat through the local cable network operators/ Multi System Operators of the state. ii) Make the rules absolute. iii) Call for records.” [3] After perusal of the record, it has been seen that the petitioner herein submitted representation dated 07.07.2023 addressed to the concerned respondent ventilating his grievances, thereafter a letter has been issued by the ADM & Collector, West Tripura addressed to the concerned cable operators but till date the issue has not been resolved. [4] In view of such, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the concerned respondent(s) to decide the case of the petitioner in the light of the representation dated 07.07.2023 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 01(one) month from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. [5] With the above observation and direction, this present writ petition stands disposed of. As a sequel, miscellaneous application(s), pending if any, shall stand closed.
