The petitioner was appointed as a Lambardar for Village Devalgam (Wandevalgam) Tehsil Kokernag, District Anantnag vide order dated 29.06.2022 for a period of six months or till elections are held in the matter. It is urged by the petitioner that in terms of Sub Rule (5) of Rule 16 of the J&K Lambardari Rule, 1980, the petitioner has every right to continue as Lambardar till he dies or is dismissed/discharged or till the general election of Lambardari is held. 2. The official respondents have filed the response, stating therein that vide order dated 08.03.2023, the services of the petitioner as Lambardar for the aforesaid village in terms of Rule 9(1)(a) of the J&K Lambardari Rules, 1980 were terminated by the respondents with effect from 28th February, 2023. 2 WP(C) No. 1592/2023 3. In the instant petition, the petitioner has not impugned his termination order dated 08.03.2025 (supra), as such, the present petition is found to be misconceived, accordingly, the same is dismissed.
