JUSTICE ANU SIVARAMAN) This writ petition is filed seeking the following reliefs: (a) Issue a writ of Habeas Corpus against the respondents to produce the missing person Mr.Murugesh aged about 69 years before this Hon'ble Court. (b) Grant such other reliefs, directions etc., as this Hon'ble Court deems fit to grant in the circumstances of this case in the interest of Justice and Equity. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's father who is aged 69 years and is a resident of Chickamangalore District had come to Bangalore and has been missing since 31.12.2024. It is submitted that in spite of complaints lodged, the petitioner's father has not been traced. 4. A status report is placed on record by the learned SPP stating that pursuant to written complaint received on 01.01.2025, earnest efforts are being taken to trace out the missing person. It is submitted that police officers have been deputed to Old Age Homes and local hospitals to trace the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:22858-DB WPHC No. 10 of 2025 missing person and CCTV Footage of various places have also been examined to see whether the petitioner's father can be traced. It is stated that enquiry and investigation is being conducted in all relevant places as stated in the status report. 5. Having considered the contentions advanced and in view of the fact that the person missing complaint has been registered and earnest attempts are being made to trace out the missing person, this writ petition is disposed of with direction to the jurisdictional police to carry out the investigation and to file final report before the Magistrate Court in accordance with law.
