Mr. Gaurav Singh, learned counsel and Mr. Pankaj Dutt Sharma, learned counsel through video conferencing for Respondent No. 2. 4. The present Criminal Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, has been instituted by the Petitioner against the Respondents, particularly Respondent No. 2, seeking the following relief: “(i) Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the First Information Report dated 21.08.2025 lodged by Respondent No. 2 against the Petitioner, which was registered as FIR No. 0419 of 2025 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station SIDCUL, District Haridwar, Uttarakhand.” 5. Today, the matter is listed for disposal of the Compounding Application (I.A. No. 01 of 2025, Paper No. 34), seeking permission to compound the offences on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their dispute. 6. The application has been duly signed by both parties and endorsed by their respective learned counsel-Mr. M.C. Pant for the Petitioner and Mr. Gaurav Singh and Mr. Pankaj 2025:UHC:10044 Dutt, learned counsel for Respondent No. 2. Affidavits in support of the application have also been filed. 7. Learned State Counsel opposes the Compounding Application on the ground that some of the offences alleged are non-compoundable in nature. 8. Both the Petitioner and Respondent No. 2 are present in person before this Court and have been duly identified by their respective counsel. 9. Today, the Director, Mr. K.G. Philipose, is appearing through video conferencing. 10. Petitioner, Respondent No. 2, and the Director, jointly submit that they have reconciled their differences and amicably settled the matter, culminating in the present compounding application. 11. After interacting with the parties and considering the statements made before this Court as well as the submissions advanced, this Court is satisfied that a genuine and voluntary compromise has been entered into between the parties, without any duress, coercion, or undue influence. 12. Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of the offences involved, the Compounding Application (I.A. No. 01 of 2025) is allowed. The compromise between the parties is accepted. 13. Consequently, FIR No. 0419 of 2025, relating to offences under Sections 420, 467, 468, and 471 IPC, 1860, registered at Police Station SIDCUL, District Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is hereby quashed insofar as it relates to the present Petitioner, in terms of the compromise. 2025:UHC:10044 14.
