…Appellant/Petitioner(s) Through: None. Vs.
UNION TERRITORY THROUGH DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE AND ORS
…Respondent (s) Through: Mr. Mohsin Qadri, Sr. AAG with Ms. Maha Majeed, Assisting Counsel
CORAM:
HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJEEV KUMAR, JUDGE
ORDER 19.12.2025
1. On the last four consecutive dates of hearing, there has been no representation on behalf of the petitioners. As a matter of fact, this petition was considered on 4th December, 2024, when this Court, while issuing notice to the other side, directed the official respondents to provide adequate protection to the petitioners in accordance with the law laid down by the Supreme Court in “Lata Singh vs. State of UP and ors (2006) 5 SCC 475”.
2. It seems that because of the interim directions passed and the protection granted to the couple (petitioners), the writ petition has outlived its utility. It is because of this reason; the petitioners have abandoned it.
3. This petition is accordingly dismissed for non-prosecution.
