Serial No. 32 Suppl. cause list IN THE HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR WP(C) 2681/2024 MASRAT BANO AND ANR …Appellant/Petitioner(s) Through: NONE. Vs. UNION TERRITORY OF J AND K AND ORS …Respondent (s) Through: Mr. Mohsin Qadri, Sr. AAG with Ms. Maha Majeed, Assisting Counsel CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJEEV KUMAR, JUDGE ORDER 19.12.2025 1. On the last three occasions when this case was taken up for consideration, nobody turned up to appear on behalf of the petitioners. Today also when the case was called nobody appeared for the petitioners. 2. This is a petition by a couple, claiming to have contracted marriage out of their free will and volition. They appear to have filed this petition on the apprehension that their married life could be interfered with by the respondents 4 to 6. 3. This petition came up for consideration on 21st November, 2024 when this Court while issuing notice to the respondents for filing objections directed the petitioners to approach the respondent No. 2 and 3 with the grievance put forth in the petition with a further direction that such grievance if projected by the petitioner shall be taken care of by the respondent 2 to 3 by taking necessary protective measures. 4. It seems that after obtaining aforesaid interim directions and on being satisfied that there shall be no interference in their married life in future, the petitioners abandoned this petition. 5. Today also they have not appeared. It is evident that the purpose for which the petition was filed has been achieved. This petition is, therefore, rendered infructuous. 6. This petition is, therefore, dismissed as such. (SANJEEV KUMAR) JUDGE SRINAGAR: 19.12.2025 “Shahid Manzoor”
