This is a petition seeking a writ of mandamus commanding upon the official respondents to provide adequate protection and security to the life and property of the petitioner and his family, which he feels threatened by his nephew-Owais Ahamd Wani S/O Nesar Ahmad Wani. 2. From the pleadings of the petitioner as also the response filed by the official respondents, it seems there is a dispute between the petitioner and his nephew with regard to some property consisting of land and a residential house constructed thereupon. 3. Indisputably, the petitioner as well as his nephew-Owais Ahamd Wani lives in the same residential house. As reported MIR ARIF MANZOOR I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document 26.12.25 by the Police, there has been on and off altercations between the two parties and both are rushing to the Police Station with allegations and counter allegations. This petition came up for consideration on 18th June, 2025, when this Court, while issuing notice to the respondents, also directed by way of an interim direction that the official respondents shall ensure the life and liberty of the petitioner as well as his family members. 4. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the response filed by the Police, this petition is disposed of by providing that the Police Station concerned shall ensure that the parties i.e., the petitioner and his nephew who are litigating in the civil Court, do not break law and breach peace on spot. In case there is commission of a cognizable offence by the either party, necessary FIR shall be registered and investigated in accordance with law. 5. Disposed of.
