ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to register the document presented by the petitioner on 09.05.2025 and now pending before him pertaining to an extent of 0.40.50 ares land comprising in S.No. 198/1 of Ariyavoor village Covered under patta no.1796 as per the provisions of Tamil Nadu Registration Act within a specific time frame as fixed by this Court.
2. On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents produced an extract of the 'A' register, wherein it is seen that S.No.198/1 is classified as patta land, and S.No.198/2 is classified as a lake, namely 'Nfhl;ilahd;Fsk;'. Therefore, the apprehension expressed by the Registration Department is erroneous. The petitioner is seeking registration only in respect of S.No.198/1. As per the 'A' register, it is patta land standing in the name of Sabeetha Beevi. The said Sabeetha Beevi is the vendor of the petitioner, and the petitioner now intends to sell the property. Hence, this Court is inclined to allow the writ petition.
3. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed. The 2nd respondent is
directed to register the document presented by the petitioner within a period of 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P(MD)No.16556 of 2025 four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. No Costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
