SREENIVASA REDDY Criminal Petition No.3791 of 2025 Order: This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioner/A6, seeking anticipatory bail, in Crime No.76 of 2023 of Puttaparthy Urban Police Station, Sri Sathya Sai district, registered for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. 2. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that, on 20.07.2023, at about 08.00 AM, on credible information, the Inspector of Police, Puttaparthy Urban Police Station, along with his staff and mediators, reached T-Junction towards Kammavaripalli Route, near Prashanthi Petrol Bunk, Puttaparthy Town, and found A1 to A5 in possession of 490 Grams of Ganja. On interrogation, A1 and A2 confessed that they purchased Ganja from A6 and sold the same to A3 to A5. The contraband was seized under cover of a mediators report and a case has been registered against the accused. 3. Heard. Perused the record. 2 4. A perusal of the material on record goes to show that the allegation is that the petitioner herein/A6 is a drug peddler and from the date of offence he is absconding. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the investigation is at nascent stage and some more witnesses are to be examined. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner herein. 5. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. 6. As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed. _______________________ K.
