Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:34754-DB Court No. - 2 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 5462 of 2025 Petitioner :- Gopesh Agrawal Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Prin. Secy. Home Deptt. Lko. And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Pranshu Agrawal Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Rajan Roy,J. Hon'ble Praveen Kumar Giri,J. 1. On 4.6.2025, we had passed the following order : "1. Application of the petitioner for issuance of character certificate has been declined by a cross having been made above the word "rejected" on the online portal in the concerned window/tab. 2. Put up tomorrow as fresh to enable the learned Standing Counsel to seek instructions and place before this Court written order in this regard, if any." 2. Today, Sri Uttam Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for the State says that a separate order rejecting the application for issuance of character certificate has not been passed and the rejection has been communicated by ticking the "X" icon on the portal above word 'Rejected'. The reason for it appears to be the pendency of certain criminal cases which are admitted by the petitioner, details of which have been given in paragraph 5. Therefore, the case at hand is covered by our judgment dated 28.5.2025, passed in a bunch of writ petitions, leading writ petition being Writ - C No. 718 of 2025 (Anil Kumar Vs. State of U.P. and others). Therefore, we quash the impugned action. 3. Now, the District Magistrate shall consider issuance of a certificate to the petitioner in the light of our judgment in Anil Kumar (Supra) and on the format mentioned therein, on the same terms, and issue the certificate accordingly within three weeks. The observations and reasons given in our judgment dated 28.5.2025 and directions contained therein will apply in this case also. 4. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
