Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:34428-DB Court No. - 2 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 5336 of 2025 Petitioner :- Sabeeh Alam Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Prin.Secy.Home Sectt. Lko And Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Mohammad Saem Shiraz Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C.,Aprajita Bansal Hon'ble Rajan Roy,J. Hon'ble Praveen Kumar Giri,J. Heard. The petitioner does claim rights in the land in question nor entitlement to have an electricity connection, therefore, we fail to understand as to why we should entertain this petition at his behest. As regards the contention that electricity connection has been illegally granted to Rehanullah, he is not a party in this petition. The petitioner had earlier filed a Public Interest Litigation bearing no. 487 of 2025 which was dismissed on 19.05.2025 as under:-
"1. This writ petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioner seeking direction to the respondents to immediately disconnect illegal electricity connection installed on the Waqf property. 2. Vehement submissions have been made in the petition pertaining to the property belonging to Waqf being in illegal possession and/or the grant of electricity connection against law by the Power Corporation. 3. A perusal of the entire petition indicates that the petitioner, who is a resident of Lucknow, without disclosing his credentials, has sought to question the action pertaining to a property which is situated at Azamgarh. 4. Besides the above, when admittedly the property in question is a Waqf property, the cause of action, if any, qua the said property in question vests with the Waqf and the petitioner, without disclosing his credentials, cannot maintain the present petition. The petition is, therefore, dismissed." The aforesaid fact has not been disclosed by the petitioner. Further, learned Counsel for the Electricity Corporation invites our attention to a copy of the Khatauni annexed at Page - 18 wherein the name of the mother of the consumer is mentioned in respect of the land / property in question. We do not wish to enter into this controversy at the behest of the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. Our order shall, however, not be understood as validating any action of the opposite parties or the consumer in connection with the electricity connection.
