CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE
ORDER 19.12.2025
1. The petitioner seeks initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents for non compliance of the order dated October 23, 2013, passed by the Writ Court in SWP No. 2223/2013 (Anuradha Rathore vs. State of J&K and others), vide which the petition filed by the petitioner was disposed of with a direction to the respondents to accord consideration to his claim in accordance with the rules governing the field and take a decision in this regard within a specified time.
2. For, despite the repeated representations, the respondents failed to comply with the order referred to above. Thus, this petition.
3. The records show that notice was issued to the respondents in the contempt petition on August 29, 2014. But to date, no response has been submitted. In fact, after March 30, 2015, the matter has been listed today for the first time and in the interregnum, it was not being pursued by any of the parties.
4. Thus, in the given circumstances, it appears that the petition, with the efflux of time appears to have been rendered infructuous and is disposed of as such. However, in the event any dispute/cause of action still survives, the petitioner shall be at liberty to move an application for restoration of the petition and appropriate orders.
