JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR MEDHI ORDER 14.06.2025 This is an appeal filed by the appellant-New India Assurance Co. Ltd. (for short Insurance Company) against the judgment and award dated 29.06.2015 passed by the learned Commissioner, Workmen’s Compensation, Tezpur Zone-III in (for short Commissioner, Tezpur) in WC Case No.1332/2014 whereby an amount of Rs.3,86,650/- along with 12% interest, as compensation, was Page No.# 3/3 directed to be paid by the appellant-Insurance Company to the claimant- respondent. Shri Biswanath Boro, Regional Manager and Ms. Hena Haflongbar, Assistant Manager of the Insurance Company and the legal heirs of the claimant- i) Sumitra Das-wife; ii) Shreya Das-daughter and iii) Riya Das- daughter along with their learned counsel, Shri K Bhattacharjee are present today i.e., 14.06.2025 in the National Lok Adalat. The parties present before this Court jointly submit that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties and a lump sum amount Rs.3,70,000/- as full and final settlement has been agreed upon. In view of the above, the appeal stands closed with a direction that the Insurance Company shall deposit the amount of Rs.3,70,000/- being the full and final settlement before the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from today. The claimant, Sumitra Das-wife would be at liberty to withdraw the aforesaid amount on being properly identified by their learned counsel. Send back the LCRs, if any. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
