GP FOR AGRICULTURE (AP) The Court made the following ORDER: The writ petition is filed seeking indulgence of this Court, praying the following main relief:- “……directing the 2nd respondent to act in accordance with law and to direct the 2nd respondent to continue the petitioner in service as Executive (Gen), in the light of the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP Nos. 14033- 14034 of 2017 dated 05.05.2017 till he completes the age of 60 years with all consequential benefits and pass……” 2. The conspectus of the writ petition is that the petitioner is seeking continuation of his service in the respondent’s Corporation upto the superannuation age of 60 years. 2 3. When the matter is called today, there is no representation for the petitioner. 4. On the other hand, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Cooperation submits that the petitioner’s service was extended from 58 years to 60 years and subsequently, he retired from service on 31.05.2019. Making the said submission, he states that the writ petition becomes infructuous. 5. In view of the above stated position and in the absence of representation from the petitioner’s side, this Court is of the view that merely keeping the writ petition pending would serve no useful purpose. Hence, the writ petition is closed. 6. However, this order will not preclude the petitioner from taking recourse to law as permissible, if so advised. There shall be no order as to costs.
