Zingxhangphy Zimik, learned counsel for the applicant appearing through video conferencing and Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned PP for the State respondents. [2] By the present application, the applicant is praying for condonation of 15 days’ delay in filing the connected appeal against the judgment and order of conviction dated 28-07-2025 and the sentence order dated 30-07- 2025 convicting the appellant under Section 342/376 IPC & 8 POCSO Act and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 10 years along with a fine of Rs. 1 lakh. It is submitted that the applicant belongs to a poor family and he took some time in obtaining the certified copy of the orders and also engaging counsel to file appeal against these orders. It is also submitted that the delay of 15 days is not inordinate and the same may be condoned in the interest of justice. [3] Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned PP for the State respondents, MC(Crl.A.) No. 46 of 2025 submits that this Court may pass an appropriate order considering the facts of the case. [4] This Court has perused the material on record and the delay is of only 15 days in filing the criminal appeal against the conviction and sentence orders passed by the learned Special Judge, Fast Track Court No. 1, Manipur in Special Trial (POCSO) No. 45 of 2020. Accordingly, the application is allowed and the delay of 15 days is condoned. [5] The Registry is directed to register the connected appeal if the same is in order and list the connected appeal in due course.
