ANJARIA and HON'BLE MR JUSTICE M.I.ARUN ORAL JUDGMENT (PER: HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE MR. JUSTICE N. V. ANJARIA) The prayer in this public interest petition is to direct the respondents to hold a high level inquiry in respect of the alleged irregularities and illegalities which, according to the petitioner, are revealed from the Comptroller and Auditor General's report. they are allegedly committed by the Public Works Department during the period from 2016-17 and 2021-22, during calling for the tenders and in handling the tender process, including payment of bills and other alleged irregular conduct on part of the department and its officials. 2. Upon going through the averments in the petition and having heard learned advocate Mr. J.R. Mohan for the petitioner, it could be noticed that the petitioner has filed the petition with general assertions. They are too vague to be taken note of for the court to - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:9133-DB WP No. 2036 of 2024 act upon in any way. On the basis of such general details, the public interest jurisdiction cannot be exercised. 3. Not only that the petitioner has the remedy to approach the Lokayukta of the State or to pursue other legal remedies as may be available if the individual cases are detected with specific details of the alleged irregularities and illegalities. 4. The court is not inclined to entertain the present public interest petition. 5. In the above view, the petition is dismissed. SD/- (N. V.
