Notice. Mr. Sikander Bhushan, learned Deputy Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the matter is heard at this stage.

The writ petition has been filed for the grant of following substantive reliefs:-
“(i) That writ in the nature of mandamus may kindly be issued, directing the respondents to grant the benefit of 8 years and 16 years proficiency step-up to the petitioner along with all consequential benefits including arrears with interest @ 9% per annum from the due date till realization.

(ii) Direct the respondents to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner dated 17.07.2023 (Annexure P-1) and take a reasoned decision within a time bound manner.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has preferred a representation to respondent No.2 on 17.07.2023 (Annexure P-1) for claiming the above reliefs. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner would be content in case respondent No.2/competent authority is directed to decide the aforesaid representation within a fixed time schedule. Learned Deputy Advocate General is not averse to this prayer.

Having regard to the afore-submissions, but without examining the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2/ competent authority to consider and decide the aforesaid representation of the petitioner dated 17.07.2023 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from today. The decision so arrived at shall also be communicated to the petitioner.
The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
