1. Heard Mr. R. Sekhar, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. M. Deka, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. S. C. Keyal, learned standing counsel DRI.
2. This petition under Section 482 BNSS is filed for granting the privilege of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner, namely, A Srinivasan @ Srinivasan Anandpadmanadan, apprehending arrest in connection
Page No.# 2/2 with DRI Case No. 01/CL/IMP/PS & CIG/DRI/GZU /2025-26 registered u/s 110, 104 & 135(I)(a)(i)(A) /135(I)(a)(i)(C)/135(I) (b)(i)(A)/135(I)(b)(i)(C) of the Customs Act, 1962.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that pursuant to grant of interim bail on 10.06.2025, the petitioner has appeared and his statement has also been recorded. It is further stated that the petitioner is stated to be the owner of the truck and he was unaware about carrying of alleged seeds by the driver.
4. Ms. M. Deka, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. S. C. Keyal, learned standing counsel DRI, submits that the petitioner appeared before the investigating officer and got his statement recorded in terms of the direction in the interim pre-arrest bail granted earlier.
6. Accordingly, the interim pre-arrest bail granted vide order, dated 10.06.2025 is hereby made absolute, subject to the following conditions- (i) That the petitioner shall render full co-operate to the remaining investigation and appear before the Investigating Officer; (ii) He shall not hamper or tamper with evidence.
8. This disposes of the anticipatory bail application.
