Verma, learned counsel for the Board has stated that pursuant to the recommendations made by the Regional Officer, the proceedings for closure of the brick kiln in question are likely to be initiated by the competent authority, namely, Chief Environment Officer. 3. Once the illegality in the operation of brick kiln has been taken note of by the competent authority, necessary action is bound to follow in accordance with law and we expect the competent authority to proceed keeping in view the relevant provisions of law and conclude the proceedings after affording opportunity to the affected party. 4.
