In this petition, the petitioner claims to have been appointed as Safaiwala on regular temporary basis against a clear vacancy in Block Surankote by the Block Medical Officer concerned vide order No.BMO/SKT/1299-1300 dated 20th February, 2002. The grievance of the petitioner is that, though, he had been appointed temporary in a regular pay scale and has been performing his duties for the last so many years, he has not been given the pay and other allowances attached to the regular service. It is in this background the petitioners filed this petition seeking a mandamus to the respondents to treat him as a regularly appointed employee entitled to release of salary as such. 2. This petition came up for consideration of this Court on 02.02.2016, when this Court while issuing notice to the respondents also passed an interim direction, calling upon the respondents to accord consideration Sr. No. 08 2 to the release of duly earned salary in favour of the petitioner by strictly adhering to the Rules. 4. This petition is pending in this Court since the year 2016 and no effort has been made by the petitioner to pursue it or get it listed before the Court. Today also, when the case was taken up, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. It appears that the purpose, for which this petition was filed, has been achieved and, therefore, the petitioner has not made any effort to get the case listed and pursue it further. 5.
