Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:28088-DB Court No. - 1 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 4461 of 2025 Petitioner :- Chaya Devi Respondent :- Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Ltd. Thru. Director And Ceo. And 2 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Rakesh Sharma Counsel for Respondent :- Vinay Shankar Hon'ble Attau Rahman Masoodi,J. Hon'ble Ajai Kumar Srivastava-I,J. Heard Sri Rakesh Sharma, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Sri Vinay Shankar, learned Counsel for the respondents. The averments made in the writ petition show that one Sri Surendra Kumar had obtained a Life Insurance Cover against the accidental death. It appears that the insured has died in accidental death giving rise to a claim to the nominee, i.e., the petitioner, who has laid her claim by making a representation to the Insurance Company and the same has been turned down by the Insurance Company vide letter dated 07.10.2024 (Annexure - 9 to the writ petition). The Insurance Company is a private body against which a Writ of Mandamus would not lie. The petitioner may be well-advised to seek redressal of his grievance before the Consumer Forum or competent Court, as the case may be. With this liberty, we decline to entertain the writ petition under writ jurisdiction of this Court and the same being not maintainable is accordingly rejected without prejudice to the remedy available before the competent forum. .
