(ORAL) At the outset, learned counsel for the respondents informs that the claim of petitioners was considered in the light of judgment dated 26.09.2024 passed in LPA-727-2013, titled “Kiran Bala and tohers Versus State of Punjab and others”, which was later challenged by the State of Punjab before the Hon’ble Supreme Court by filing SLP (Civil) Diary No. 1764 of 2025, wherein, vide order dated 31.01.2025, upon issuing notice, it has been ordered that “the High Court shall not proceed with the contempt proceedings, if any, till the next date of hearing”. [2] After hearing learned counsel for the parties, present contempt petition is disposed off at this stage with liberty to the petitioners for revival of the present petition, subject to final outcome of the aforesaid SLP. [3] Rule stands discharged.
