The institution of this writ petition was with an objective for seeking protection with respect to the person of the petitioners who are said to have solemnized marriage against the wishes of their parents, in particular, the parent side of petitioner No. 1. 02. This Court, in terms of an order dated 09.04.2025, came to direct the respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police-(SSP), Poonch to provide the police protection with respect to the persons of the petitioners from suffering any harm at the hands of the respondents No. 5 to 9. 03. This writ petition is disposed of with a continuing mandamus unto the respondent No. 2 to ensure that the Serial No. 33 Supplementary List-1 2 WP(C) No. 874/2025 petitioners do not suffer any harm at the hands of the respondents No. 5 to 9 on account of the marital relationship forged by the petitioners acting in exercise of their free will and volition. 04.
