State of J&K and others). Vide order, referred to above, the Writ Court while issuing notice to the respondents had also stayed the operation of the impugned letter dated January 20, 2014. However, vide a subsequent order dated December 14, 2016, the main case itself was withdrawn by the petitioner and the interim direction was, accordingly, vacated. That being so, nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
