In this petition, the petitioners, who were engaged as Lecturers in various Higher Secondary Schools on an academic arrangement basis, are seeking a direction to the respondents not to replace them by a similar arrangement. They have called in question the fresh process of selection initiated by the Director, School Education, Jammu, in the year 2016 to replace them by a new set of academic arrangements. 02. This petition was considered by this Court on 11.03.2016, when this Court, while issuing notice to the respondents, also directed them not to disturb the present status of the petitioner. This interim direction is in operation as on date. 03. The respondents have not filed their objections and, therefore, it is not clear as to what is the present status of the petitioners. 04. Be that as it may, having regard to the nature of the controversy involved and the legal position settled by this Court, the petitioners, if still in service on an academic arrangement basis, shall not be replaced by a similar arrangement. 05.
