Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:25924-DB Court No. - 2 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 4195 of 2025 Petitioner :- Vikas Kumar Ojha Respondent :- Chairman Bar Council U.P. Maharshi Dayanand Prayagraj And Another Counsel for Petitioner :- Amar Nath Dubey Counsel for Respondent :- Subhash Chandra Pandey Hon'ble Rajan Roy,J. Hon'ble Om Prakash Shukla,J. Heard. In the list of voters for the year 2025, who have Certificate of Practice issued by the Bar Council in their favour, the name of the petitioner admittedly does not figure. Learned counsel for the Bar Council says that his instructions are that C.O.P. has not been issued by the Bar Council. Learned counsel for the Bar Council further says that the petitioner has also not annexed any receipt of subscription fee deposited by the petitioner with the Bar Association. C.O.P. is a must for being a voter in election to the Bar Association in view of Rule 15.2 of the Bar Council of India Certificate and place of Practice (Verification) Rules, 2015, therefore, we are not inclined to interfere at the behest of the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner, on being asked, could not state any reason as to why the petitioner did not apply for issuance of the C.O.P. If the petitioner applies for issuance of Certificate of Practice to the Bar Council of U.P., the same would be considered as per law and with expedition unless there is any legal impediment. The Writ Petition is disposed of. (Om Prakash Shukla,J.) (Rajan Roy,J.)
